Announcement Re SICI Canada Office Program Status 2016-17
Please note the following status related to your Grants/Grant applications:
SRG and FTI programs 2016-17 – SICI Canada office is now in the process of releasing first installment of your SRG and FTI grants to your (lead applicant’s) institutions.
SSTSG program 2016-17 – SSTSG funds will only be released once your approved travel is completed and we have accepted your SSTSG report.
SMDF Program 2016-17 – This program is still open to receive funding requests from CMC member institutions.
SMDF grants are being released once your approved event is completed and your final report is accepted.
SPSG in Aid 2016-17 – Application deadline is over recently. Adjudication work is ongoing. The competition result will be announced in early March 2017.

SICI’s Position Paper on Canadian Studies Program
Canadian Studies: A Productive Investment in Creating Global Understanding of Canadian Values and Interests
Presented on behalf of Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute
In this position paper, the authors described the value-added investment made in Canadian Studies program that has positively impacted Canada’s standing in India as an example of its worldwide impact, and urged the Canadian Government to seriously consider re-starting this program so that Canada can once again enhance its place in the world through this high value-low cost diplomatic effort. Report on Engaging India and Canada Conference held at New Delhi on May 28 , 2016
Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute organized a conference titled “Engaging India and Canada: Landmarks and Roadmaps for Global Educational Collaboration between Canada and India” with support from MHRD, Government of India at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The thrust area of the Conference was broad based to feature disciplines and areas of research that has contributed to the shaping of Educational Collaboration between Canada and India, especially in the past two decades and in the canvas of research in specific disciplines.
