Getting involved in India in French with the Youth!” took place on December 8 & 9 at the University of Montreal as part of the Shastri Engaging India Series. The conference was a great success due to the enthusiasm and participation of all its attendees. The conference was both an enriching and gratifying event.
Many participants expressed that young Quebecers represent the future of Québec-India relations particularly with regards to the French language. French is not an obstacle to universalization, but an added value. Considering the wide use of the language in numerous countries around the world today, the knowledge of this language is more important than ever. Learning French is now on the agenda of various countries and has become a key necessity to economic and social success.
This reality is particularly significant for India as in the past decades it has become a significant player in the world economy. It is therefore essential to establish links and reinforce the bilateral partnerships between India and Québec.
The conference emphasized the importance of the work Shastri does serving as an intermediary between India and Québec. Shastri’s role is essential to the introduction and support of youth in the process of globalization, while emphasizing the importance of the French language in international affairs.
The conference coordinators and the Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute would like to express their utmost gratitude to all attendees for their participation.News Archive
